In a world dominated by planned obsolescence, we have always focused on producing machines that can last the test of time, are reliable and easy to use. But saying is one thing and proving it is another.

The image below is one of our Model Mk2 which was first manufactured on the 18th March 1985 and is still working strongly today all these years later.

Our history in the seam sealing market

At Ardmel, we have been a key player in the tape seam sealing market since the late seventies and the Mk2 Seam Sealer was our first step into the market with a completely in-house design.

This seam sealing machine revolutionised the waterproof clothing performance market which, up until that point, had used the old paint and daub method. The success and durability of the Mk-2 can still be seen today as evident above. And that is not the sole example! We still provide servicing for many of the original Mk-2 Seam Sealer Machines that we manufactured and which are still being used globally after more than 30 years of service.

From our first seam sealing machine, the Mk-2, all the way to the latest evolutions, have evolved and advanced over the last half century and our seam sealing machines now incorporate advances like touch screen technology, temperature and air supply feedback systems, height controlled desks and automatic energy saving systems. All designed to continually push our range forwards and allow us to lead the way in garment construction technology.
